College sports are prominent on Sirius XM, via deals with Learfield, IMG College
The contract just announced with college rightsholder Learfield Sports is a renewal, as its EVP/COO Andy Rawlings says "We're thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with Sirius XM." At IMG College, Senior VP of Media Operations Joe Potter says it is "pleased to bring dozens of our collegiate partners' games to Sirius XM, which has become a prime destination for college sports fans to get game broadcasts, information and coaches' shows." In all, Sirius XM now offers live play-by-play of football and men's basketball from 11 college conferences, including (alphabetically) the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 Big East, Pac 12 and Army. There will be men's basketball from Xavier, Gonzaga and teams from some mid-major conferences, plus some women's basketball, baseball, hockey and other sports. Sirius XM's gathering place for these broadcasts is "College Sports Nation", Channel 91.
