Colorado GM's "shootout" comments get him a restraining order

gun A Greeley, Colorado talk show host whose controversial comments about the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. sparked outrage now finds himself on the receiving end of a restraining order for comments he left on a rival GM's answering machine. KELS-FM (104.7) "Pirate Radio" talk host and owner Brett Reese was under fire for comments he made on the air recently. Reese read a letter on the air that included a reference to King being a "sexual degenerate" and an "America-hating Communist" among other comments. Reese, who is also a member of the Greeley Board of Education, then made more news when he abruptly walked out of a scheduled meeting due to complaints about him, but vowed to carry his licensed firearm to the next school board meeting. Adding to Reese's week is his claim that a rival station has been contacting KELS advertisers. Reese allegedly called KFKA-AM (1310) owner Justin Sasso and said "I'll give you by the end of the day today" to stop contacting KELS sponsors "or we're going to have a shootout." Both stations air a conservative talk format. You can listen to the phone message left by Reese here. Denver's KDVR-TV has more about the entire situation here.
