Contemporary Christian network WAY-FM upgrades in Louisville, adding WLCL (93.9)
Cumulus Media signed WLCL, Sellersburg, Indiana off the air two months ago amid rumors that it would be sold to a non-commercial religious radio operator. Today, WAY FM Chief Operating Officer Lloyd Parker breaks the silence and says that Colorado Springs-based WAY Media Inc. just began LMAing Class A WLCL on Friday. Parker says that “for the next few months, WAY FM will have two outlets in the market.” That’s its own WAYI, Valley Station, KY (105.9) plus the newly-added WLCL. WAY FM founder Bob Augsburg says “this is a very exciting move for us [since] WLCL has full-market coverage and even serves a good portion of southern Indiana.” As for the eventual fate of suburban WAYI: “future plans will be announced later this year.”
