Could both Howard Stern & Bubba the Love Sponge bolt Sirius XM?
This was a question raised by Kurt Hanson’s Radio and Internet Newsletter. Radio-Info has previously reported that Howard Stern could leave Sirius XM. However, Bubba’s contract with Sirius XM is also ending in December. The RAIN newsletter reports that Bubba the Love Sponge is reportedly in talks with Internet radio service Radioio, an internet radio service started a decade ago that claims to have over one million listeners. Fueling the rumor is Radioio consultant Mike Roe, who tells Audio4Cast, “Any one who knows anything at all about broadcasting knows that the internet is the future of radio. Period. So, what are the odds that a Stern or a Bubba doesn’t know that? It isn’t really a question of whether or not these personalities will (eventually) come to internet radio, but when.” Currently, the Tampa-based Bubba the Love Sponge Show on Howard 101 on Sirius XM Radio, as well as number of radio stations in Florida, along with WZLR-FM (95.3) in Dayton, Ohio.
