Cox Media Group promotes EVP Doug Franklin to President
Franklin will oversee divisions such as the 86-station radio group, the 15 Cox-owned TV stations, eight daily papers (such as as the Atlanta Journal Constitution, where he was the publisher) and various other business units, including ValPak and Cox Reps. Doug Franklin joined Cox three decades ago as "a door-to-door circulation solicitor from Dayton." He succeeds Sandy Schwartz, who becomes president of Cox Enterprises-owned automotive subsidiary Manheim. The Cox-owned radio stations are overseen by Bob Neil.
