"Cruisin' Oldies" KRSX leaves Barstow, California for a new home in Palm Springs
The reason was simple – not enough advertisers. The recently-silent “Cruisin’ Oldies” KRSX-FM (105.3) was licensed to Yermo, California, as a part of the Barstow market. However, without enough listeners or advertisers, the station went silent but applied to move its signal to the Palm Springs market, licensed to Twentynine Palms. KRSX was listed as a Class B1 station in Yermo, broadcasting with 400 watts at 693 meters. Now it becomes a Class A in Twentynine Palms, with 6,000 watts at 70 meters. El Dorado Broadcasters market manager Steve Garsh tells the Desert Dispatch newspaper, “It’s simply a business decision.”
