Cumulus cuts come to New York's WABC/WPLJ: 14 gone?
Longtime WPLJ (95.5) overnighter Dave Stewart posts the news about his own fate on his Facebook page, and says goodbye after almost 22 years. He remains involved with his own "RetroStars" 90s-based show (website here). Stewart may be the most visible and immediate of the cuts in New York, but Radio-Info.com hears there were other ones at talk WABC (770) and hot AC WPLJ. Cumulus closed on its $2.4 billion purchase of Citadel Broadcasting in mid-September, and has been working through the Citadel large markets, apparently starting with Dallas and recently visiting Los Angeles. The New York Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about the bad news.
