Late last year, there was controversy about the business arrangements surrounding Hughley’s appearance on the urban AC, and about who was paying him: station owner Emmis, or his potential syndicator, URBan Radio. Hughley isn’t syndicated yet, but he has earned good reviews for his work at Kiss.
