Dan Snyder, sports radio mogul?
The Washington Post says the Redskins team owner is "moving closer to an agreement to buy local sports-talk station WTEM (980) and two other AM stations" from Clear Channel. Snyder thought he'd made himself a player with the lesser-signal stations he bought in 2006 for his Red Zebra - but the "Triple X" network's got signal problems, and that led Snyder to put the NFL games on Clear Channel's classic hits WBIG-FM (100.3) last season. The Post's Paul Farhi says sources tell him there's no sale agreement yet for WTEM, WWRC (1260) and WTNT (570). But if it happens, Snyder would control the current sports talk radio scene in the D.C. market.
