Danny Bonaduce says his final goodbye to WYSP, Philly
CBS Radio's WYSP (94.1) is dropping the rock music just after Labor Day to become "94 WIP", as a simulcast of all-sports WIP-AM (610). Bonaduce is one of the staffers who is out at WYSP, and he made an emotional farewell to Philadelphia Friday morning in the 8 o'clock hour, talking about how much he and his wife have enjoyed their time there. CBS programmer Andy Bloom called in around 8:40, telling the story of catching Bonaduce three years ago on KLSX, Los Angeles, and realizing that he had found his morning show for WYSP. Where does Bonaduce, the former "Partridge Family" and reality TV star, go next? CBS is apparently interested in his services in other markets. It is believed his current contract runs through this Fall. WYSP is running remembrances of its 40-year history, mostly as a rock station, here. Check out several threads about WYSP on the Philadelphia Board. One of them is about the temporary return of onetime midday star Anita Gevinson, on Tuesday. The Board is here.
