Day 2 September PPMs from Arbitron: Washington, Boston, Detroit...
Washington DC: The Virginia earthquake and Hurricane Irene helped Hubbard Radio's all-news WTOP grow 8.2–8.2–10.1, with age 6+ AQH shares. Another information station also posted big gains: American University's public radio news/talk WAMU, up 5.3 to 6.2, now tied with Clear Channel's rhythmic "Hot 99.5" WIHT.
Boston: Clear Channel's CHR "Kiss 108" WXKS-FM again doesn't have any serious challengers, going 10.8–9.9–10.0.
Detroit: "The Ticket" WXYT-FM (6.8–8.2) re-claims the lead from CBS sister country WYCD (7.9–7.4). In fact CBS owns the top four stations in Detroit, with #3 all-news WWJ (flat at at 5.4) and #4 oldies WOMC, 5.6–5.4. The first non-CBS station is Radio One's urban AC "Kiss" WDMK, 4.6–4.9.
Also released on Day 2 of the September PPMs: Miami, Seattle, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, Denver, Tampa, St. Louis and Baltimore. Check any or all of them on the Ratings Page of Radio-Info.com.
