Denver's 4th sports station is KDSP (102.3), after it flips from rock as KCUV
Classic rock music is out and sports talk is in as the new owners of KCUV-FM (102.3) in Denver have created the market’s fourth sports station. Station manager Tom Manoogian, who was one of 20 investors who bought KCUV & KJAC-FM (105.5) from NRC Broadcasting, is setting up a station that will have some local flavor. The Denver Post reports now-rival KCKK-AM (1510) afternoon team of Joel Klatt and Nate Kreckman have bolted to KCUV – now re-named KDSP – where they will each host a sports show. Former KEPN-AM (1600) hosts Vic Lombardi and Gary Miller of KCNC-TV will handle mornings. Manoogian tells the paper the schedule is a “work in progress.” The PD of KDSP is Tim Spence, the former PD of KEPN. Sister KJAC “The Jack” will keep its classic hits format.
