Dickstein Shapiro's Pre-Convention Seminar is Dropped
The Wednesday morning hours on September 29, during which the D.C. law firm would traditionally be running its high-level mini-conference for about 400 dealmakers, are instead dedicated to the beginning of this year’s first-ever combined RAB/NAB Radio Show. In past years of what had been the NAB-only Show, its seminars didn’t start until the afternoon. Some brokers have protested the loss of the valuable Wednesday morning Dickstein Shapiro session. There was even talk of a separate meeting, held down the street from the Washington, D.C. Grand Hyatt. Now the NAB’s online agenda – though not yet announced as such – shows no fewer than three Dickstein Shapiro-branded sessions, all lined up Wednesday afternoon. The first one is “Financing Options and Strategies: A Dickstein Shapiro Discussion.” Then “The Future of Radio Revenue, sponsored by Dickstein Shapiro.” And finally, a “Super-session”, titled “Prospects and Strategies for Growth: A Dickstein Shapiro Discussion.” The two trade associations hope that will be enough to calm the critics and keep dealmakers coming – and registering. More about the combined NAB/RAB 2010 convention here.
