Donny Osmond launches a midday radio show on Citadel Media's AC service with 60 affiliates
The “Dancing with the Stars” winner and veteran entertainer will headline a program that syndicator Citadel Media is aiming at adult contemporary and classic hits stations, beginning with its own Mike McVay-consulted Adult Contemporary 24/7 service. The show debuts January 18 and was developed with consultant Mike McKay and Cleveland-based McVay Media. McKay, who has worked with the radio shows of Dick Clark, John Tesh, Rick Dees and Jim Brickman, calls Osmond “a relatable, natural personality” who brings wide variety of life experiences to the radio show. Carl Anderson of Citadel Media says the Osmond project “aligns perfectly with our network initiative, as we offer affiliates customized daypart programming.” Each affiliate will get custom material for its market each day, plus three “content breaks” common to all the affiliates. Osmond will record the material from Las Vegas, where he’s doing his show with sister Marie, as well as Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
