Doug McIntyre to host mornings for talk KABC, Los Angeles (790)
McIntyre replaces Peter Tilden. Earlier this week, McIntyre was announced as leaving the Cumulus Media Networks-syndicated "Red Eye Radio" overnight show, and the Los Angeles Board of Radio-Info.com speculated that just-resigned KFI newsperson Terri-Rae Elmer would be joining him at KABC. Today at 2pm L.A. time, Cumulus confirmed that as of January 3, McIntyre and "T-Rae" will take over 5-9am on KABC. Doug had previously done mornings for KABC from 2004 to 2009, before concentrating on "Red Eye." The Orange County Register says Peter Tilden's last day on the air will be December 23. KABC PD Jack Silver says "we will announce plans for Peter in the coming days." Tilden came to Los Angeles from Philadelphia over 20 years ago, originally to KLSX (97.1), joining KABC in 1992. He did various shifts and also spent time at then-country KZLA (93.9). KABC's calling the new show "McIntyre in the Morning." The Los Angeles Board of Radio-Info.com is discusses the latest moves here.
