Dr. Laura, under attack, to end her radio show in December
She tells CNN’s Larry King that she could continue it, and that she feels the criticism by some groups is infringing on her First Amendment rights. But she’s choosing to end her syndicated radio show when her deal with Talk Radio Network is up at the end of the year. Dr. Laura says her use of the n-word on a recent show has become “a national discussion.” She says she never called any individual that word, but wanted to open a philosophical discussion about it. Larry King mentioned a list of advertisers which are pulling off her show, and she says it’s not because they necessarily disagree with her, but because they’re making business decisions. Dr. Laura Schlessinger has plenty on her plate – a new book due in January and other non-radio activities, including blogging. But after 17 years in syndication, she’ll be done with radio in December.
