Drew Hayes returns to program talk WLS, Chicago (890)
Hayes was the “brash program director [who] launched a brand-new news/talk format” on WLS in 1989, says Robert Feder at Vocalo.org. Hayes stayed until 1996, then worked at ESPN Radio as the general manager, programmed KABC, Los Angeles and eventually looped back to Chicago in 2001 at “Newsradio 780” WBBM. Until this week he’s been the ops manager at ‘BBM and sports “Score” WSCR (670). Now he’s back at WLS, replacing Bob Shomper, who left late last week.
