Duke Wright's Midwest Communications buys four FMs in Lansing, Michigan
The cluster is rock “Q106” WJXQ (106.1), modern rock “Edge” WVIC (94.1), classic hits “92X” WQTX and smooth jazz WJZL (92.9). The seller is Akron, Ohio’s Rubber City Radio, which retains its hometown station group. Buyer Midwest Communications has 43 stations already, including clusters in the Michigan markets of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. This is its entry into the Lansing market, which is ranked #125 by population, according to Arbitron. Broker: Dick Foreman of Richard A. Foreman Associates.
