Dwyer Adds Promotion Director Stripes At Country KUPL Portland
Danny Dwyer has been named promotion director at Alpha Broadcasting's country KUPL Portland, Ore. Dwyer, who has been with the station for 13 years both in the promotion department and on the air, will assume the new position on June 6. Dwyer began his broadcasting career at KZLA, Los Angeles in 1992, working in both promotions and programming. He joined KUPL in March 1998 as the assistant promotion director before segueing into an on air position as part of the morning show. He continued to establish his on-air persona as “Wrong Way Danny Dwyer”, handling traffic reports as well as man-on-the-street interviews. In February 2000, Dwyer took on the position of Assignment Editor for Fox 12/KPTV-TV, while also continuing part time on air work for KUPL.
