Early signs of April Fools jokes emerge at radio
Ace & TJ at CBS-owned CHR WNKS, Charlotte have already announced their 12-hour "we play anything" stunt, from 6am to 6pm on Friday, April 1. They're selling off listener requests in exchange for donations to the Ace & TJ Grin Kids charity, which flies sick and disabled kids to DisneyWorld in the Fall.
Today, Bonneville's variety hits "106.5 The Arch" WARH in St. Louis previews its "Special 'Stress Relief' programming" to begin on Friday. PD Kevin Robinson says "Stress is part of our lives...it affects our health, our families, and our overall well-being...beginning this Friday, the Arch will be presenting special programming during the station's regular daily shows, regarding strategies that can help listeners confront their stress head-on." It certainly sounds like a setup for April Fools fun.
