Ed Lover makes a 1-day return to New York's "Hot 97"
It has been 13 years since Ed Lover was one half of the legendary Dre & Lover morning show on urban WQHT-FM (97.1) in New York City. For one day on Friday, Lover made his return to his former home to host a special midday show to promote the return of "Yo! MTV Raps Classic Cuts" for the cable music channel. Lover says, "It’s been a long time since I’ve been on Hot 97 and it’s an honor and a pleasure to be back. I think it’s great that Yo! MTV Raps is coming back because it had such an impact on making Hip-Hop the global entity that it is today.” Lover knows his way around the studios, as he currently hosts a weekly show on Emmis-owned sister-station WRKS-FM (98.7) "Kiss-FM," located in the same building as "Hot 97."
