Ed Schultz considering a run for the US Senate?
Will popular liberal talker Ed Schultz follow in the footsteps of Al Franken and make a run for the U.S. Senate? News broke Tuesday that North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan has decided to retire, leaving a Democratic void in the next Senate race. TV Newser.com reports the host of “The Ed Show” has been contacted by the state Democratic leadership in an effort to get him to run for Dorgan’s post. Schultz tells MSNBC that indeed he was asked “to consider a run for the senate seat,” but said “We’re a long way from any kind of decision. I'm definitely flattered and honored.” Schultz is a resident of North Dakota, and got his start in broadcasting in Fargo. He is currently the host of both his nightly MSNBC show along with his syndicated radio “The Ed Schultz Show.”
