Entravision buys out its partner in LER: Lotus-Entravision Reps
From today's TRI Newsletter: The Spanish format-focused rep firm was founded in August 2001 as a 50-50 partnership between the privately-held Lotus Communications and the public Entravision, and now represents the national advertising interests of 156 stations. “LER” has offices in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Miami and Chicago, and today it says there won't any changes in normal business operations. Phillip Woodie continues as President. The recession has been challenging for the entire radio sector, and some of the premium may have worn off of the Spanish radio story. But the demographics are inexorable, and eventually Spanish radio will find ways to strengthen its existing ties to national advertisers. It's possible that Entravision is interested in expanding, and Lotus may be comfortable where things are – so one party buys out the other. Previous and Next Stories
