F-bombs by “Mob Wives” stars lead to cancellation of a show on New York's WNYM
It's possible the two stars of VH-1's "Mob Wives" didn't understand that they weren't on satellite radio. Drita D'avanzo tells the New York Post's Page 6 that “all day that day, I was doing interviews on satellite radio, so I thought I could say anything I want.” Now the too-candid remarks of D'avanzo and Renee Graziano have apparently led management at Salem Communications' "Apple" WNYM (970) to cancel the Sunday night show where they were guests. That is "Family Business with John Tabacco”, with John's brother Derek as co-host. It is unclear whether all the bad language was bleeped by conservative talk WNYM. It's also unknown whether there are any complaints at the FCC, which has just gotten the Administration's support in asking the Supreme Court to overturn two lower court defeats on indecency. There have not been any indecency fines issued against radio broadcasters for years, because of legal uncertainty.Previous and Next Stories
