FAIR's "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" talk radio rally begins in D.C.
The yearly radio-thon brings 47 of the nation’s radio talk hosts to Washington, where they’ll broadcast their shows. While the theme is immigration, the health care debate as it stands for illegal immigrants will surely be discussed. Talkers Magazine publisher & founder Michael Harrison tells Radio-Info, “This is like sportscasters reporting from the locker room. The hosts are not only talking about a topic, they’re talking where the laws are made about the topic, to lawmakers and activists. It’s good for radio … it puts the talk hosts and the listeners in the center of the action.” The event brings not only conservative voices such as Roger Hedgecock to D.C., but also moderates such as Lou Dobbs and progressives like Thom Hartmann, who will broadcast live from “radio row.” See streaming video of the talk hosts from the FAIR website here.
