Fargo's WDAY (940) cuts loose two from morning drive – and will simulcast TV news
One of the two people cut loose from Fargo, North Dakota’s WDAY-AM (970) is 35-year station mainstay and morning news anchor Al Aamodt, who joined the station when Gerald Ford was President. He and with morning show co-host Ben Ziegler were dropped as WDAY alters their morning programming. According to Fargo’s Forum, WDAY-AM will simulcast WDAY-TV’s “First News” from 6-7am starting Monday. Following the TV simulcast, Tracy Briggs & Erick Johnson will anchor a new two-hour morning news block from 7-9am. Johnson will continue to anchor the WDAY-AM newscasts, as well as the “News at Noon.”
