Fired Mexican news anchor who challenged the President rehired
Mexico City's MVS Radio reporter and anchor Carmen Aristegui was fired last week following a report she aired about allegations made by a rival politician - allegations that President Felipe Calderon has issues with alcohol. Almost immediately, press groups in Mexico and abroad demanded she be reinstated. Radio-Info previously reported that Aristegui claimed she was fired for what she was told was a violation of MVS' code of ethics, and that her radio station's license renewal was upcoming, and that Calderon might have made an issue out of her reporting. Fox News is now reporting that Aristegui has been reinstated, and will re-join MVS Radio next week for mornings. Aristegui is a popular media figure in Mexico. Along with her radio work in Mexico City, she is also a talk show host on CNN en Espanol.
