Fisher CEO faces dissident shareholder at a "forum" in New York
Colleen Brown, the CEO of Seattle-based Fisher Communications, will face off with David Lorber of FrontFour Capital at an unusual forum on Thursday, sponsored by investor Mario Gabelli. FrontFour is offering a slate of four new board members ahead of Fisher's May 11 annual meeting. Last week, FrontFour issued a scathing “fellow shareholders” letter after Brown leveled a number of claims against it. FrontFour called the Fisher statement “full of misleading propaganda, half-truths and false claims that are self-serving and intended to enrich the board and senior management.” FrontFour also asserts that “we are not seeking to take control of Fisher for ourselves or for Huntingdon Real Estate.” Huntingdon is a Canadian REIT (real estate investment trust) that some Seattleites suspect is after Fisher's downtown Fisher Plaza facility.
