Fisher Communications closes on the sale of its Seattle home, Fisher Plaza
Fisher Plaza in Seattle was sold to Hines Global REIT, Inc. for $160 million in cash. The closing comes after Fisher first announced in 2008 that they were looking for alternatives to its continued ownership of the office complex near the Space Needle. Now Fisher CEO & President Colleen B. Brown says, "We are pleased to have completed this transaction, which maximized the return of Fisher Plaza for our shareholders." Fisher will use a portion of the sale proceeds to buy back a portion of its 8 5/8% Senior Notes. Also, the Board of Directors approved a stock repurchase program of up to $25 million of its outstanding shares of common stock.
