Five announcers hired to fill the shoes of Dave Niehaus, so far

Seattle Mariners In 1977 when the Seattle Mariners played their first-ever game, Dave Niehaus did the play-by-play. It was a job the Hall of Fame broadcaster held until he passed away after this past season. The Mariners couldn't find just one person to take Niehaus' place, so they chose five. At least five people will work with Rick Rizzs in the radio broadcast booth, rotating throughout the upcoming season. Dave Valle and Dan Wilson are both former Mariners catchers, Ken Wilson was Niehaus' partner in the Mariners radio booth from 1977-1982, while Ron Fairly (1993 - 2006) and Ken Levine (1992-1995) have also spent time calling Mariners games in the past. In addition, the team says it is talking to former Mariners players Jay Buhner and Dave Henderson, but their status has yet to be determined. The Mariners are heard on flagship station KIRO-AM (710) in Seattle. The Seattle-Tacoma Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about Niehaus and his successors, here.
