Five Atlantic City, NJ stations are sold to a new local group
Several years ago, New York-based Access.1 bought all the radio and TV properties once owned by the late Howard Green and is now spinning off five of the radio stations. Those are classic rock "Shark" WMGM-FM (103.7), rock "Ace" WJSE (102.7), "Cool" oldies WTKU (98.3), news/talk WOND (1400), and talk WTAA (1490). The buyer is the new Atlantic Broadcasting, whose principals include local businessman Brett DeNafo (president of Atlantic) and current WAYV, Atlantic City PD Paul Kelly - whose last day at Gary Fisher-owned WAYV is today, says writer Elaine Rose in the Press of Atlantic City. Access.1 is retaining news/talk WGYM (1580) and the Channel 40 WMGM-TV.
