Five hours of ESPN Radio midday shows to be simulcast on "ESPNews"
"The Herd with Colin Cowherd" and "The Scott Van Pelt Show" are currently seen on different video channels, but as of Monday, September 26, they'll be placed back-to-back on ESPNews, from 10am Eastern to 3pm. Colin Cowherd is currently carried on "The U", the college-oriented channel formally named ESPNU. The 1pm and 2pm hours of Scott Van Pelt are currently seen on ESPN2. Senior VP of ESPN Audio Mo Davenport says "the opportunity to have our midday and afternoon programming simulcast on the same network will benefit our radio 'viewers', who will be able to find Colin and Scott in one place." ESPN says the seven-year-old "Herd" is carried on 383 ESPN Radio stations. The two-year-old Scott Van Pelt Show debuted simultaneously on ESPN Radio and ESPN2 on July 6, 2009.
