Flippin' formats: North Carolina, Missouri, and Colorado
Several smaller market format flips and "adjustments" to report. In Asheville, NC, Clear Channel took Adult Standards WMXF "1400 the Peak" to News, simulcasting co-owned WWNC (570) In Pueblo, Colorado, Oldies KDZA evolves, adding '80s into the mix of '60s and '70s music, and changing its name to "Jet 107.9." It also gets a better signal by moving its antenna from Rye, CO., to Cheyenne Mountain. The Pueblo Chieftain News reports that station manager Olene Greenwood says "it's more of a jukebox" and will run without jocks for now. Lastly, Tallgrass Broadcasting's Country KHST (101.7) flips to Oldies, concentrating on hits from the '70s as "Tallgrass Gold." Morning duo Rick and Chelsey remain on board for the new format.
