Format change in Dallas: Citadel blows up "Platinum 96.7" to simulcast news/talk WBAP (820)
It began Friday at noon (as predicted in Radio-Info’s T-R-I Newsletter) with the playing of Steam’s “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye”, then turned into an hour of the country “Texas Twister” format that soft-oldies “Platinum 96.7” replaced in mid-2008. Then it evolved to “Reagan Radio 96.7”, featuring speeches of president Ronald Reagan. Then later Friday afternoon came word from Citadel that KPMZ, Flower Mound, Texas would become a simulcast of its news/talk WBAP, Ft. Worth. The Dallas Board of Radio-Info is running several spirited threads about the change at “Platinum”, here.
