Format flips and debuts

Bustos Media has flipped Spanish Hits KOOR (1010) Portland to Spanish news/talk, using GLR’s “W Radio” programming … Outside of Detroit, Michiguide reports that a CP has been granted for a new FM at 89.5. “Smile FM” will be licensed to Huron township – “Detroit’s Downriver suburbs” … New Generation Programming debuts “Nuts and Bolts mainstream CHR” – a 24-hour format complete with music, talent, imaging, promotions, and more. The talent will include such big names as Albie Dee, Austin Henry, and Tony Banks. It’s available as of Feb. 22 … Spanish WYGR (1530) licensed to Wyoming, MI (just outside of Grand Rapids), flips to urban with Robert S. Womack moving his brokered operation to the signal from WJNZ (1140). WYGR will air the “1530 Jamz” format during the station’s daytime broadcast. The Spanish “La Furia” will move to just weekends.
