Format Moves to close out 2008
Progressive talker WVKO (1580) Columbus, OH, will change format to Religious, airing Catholic Programming, according to its website. The station was recently sold, and the changeover is expected before Jan. 1 … Citadel’s sports talk WKY “Jox 930” Oklahoma City will be changing its identity, and will announce a new format. The company also owns “Sports Animal” WWLS AM & FM, and will put the new Oklahoma City Thunder (the new name for the Seattle Sonics when they move to town) on that simulcast duo. WKY flipped to “Jox” in June 0f 2007 from Spanish, and the Radio-Info.com boards are predicting a return to that format … On New Year’s Day, progressive talk KPHX (1480) Phoenix will go adult standards. Its parent company, Nova M, will move the talk format over to a new station it’s buying—KNUV (1190).
