Former Iowa WHO-AM talker Steve Deace is heading to syndication
Conservative talker Steve Deace left Clear Channel's news/talk WHO-AM (1040) in Des Moines last February, with no forwarding address. It appears now his change of address will be a nationwide one, with his new show being syndicated by The Truth Radio Network. The Des Moines Register newspaper says Deace's show will be carried in Ames, Iowa by KTIA-FM (99.3). The popular Iowan is a strong opponent of gay marriage and abortion, and may have influenced the 2008 election. He slammed then-GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, who lost every major county where WHO-AM is heard. Following Deace's departure from WHO-AM , he was replaced by Simon Conway in April. Deace posted on his website, "One of the dreams has been to see if we can take the success and impact we enjoyed on WHO and replicate it with a national audience. I'm excited to now have the chance to follow that dream."
