Former NY Gov. David Paterson to host 4-6pm on Buckley's WOR, NYC (710)
Paterson has been a frequent guest and host on New York radio, including at CBS Radio's WFAN (660). Now talk WOR-AM says he will take over permanent hosting duties in the 4-6pm hours beginning the day after Labor Day, September 6. That bumps Steve Malzberg. WOR GM Jerry Crowley says "during his frequent stints as a fill-in host, Governor Paterson proved to be a favorite with our listeners throughout the Tri-State area. He was the obvious choice to be the man behind the microphone as we extend our locally-focused drivetime programming to the afternoon." Paterson moved up from Lt. Governor to the governor's mansion in March 2008, when Eliot Spitzer abruptly resigned. On the WOR schedule, he will follow Lou Dobbs (2-4pm) and lead into Michael Savage (6-8pm). The New York Board of Radio-Info.com has been talking about Malzberg and Paterson for a couple of days, here.
