Fox TV does a "roadblock" ad buy on Clear Channel's iheartradio app
The product is Fox TV’s new “Glee Club” comedy series, which debuts Tuesday night (May 19) right after “American Idol.” Fox and Clear Channel Radio have done creative launch campaigns in previous years, such as an hour-by-hour countdown for a new season of “24.” This time the venue is Clear Channel radio’s iheartradio service for mobile devices. Fox gets a “gateway” ad while the app loads and then additional ads on “every third interaction, such as a station switch” the user makes on a smartphone. CC Radio Sales President Jeff Howard says “Fox has consistently been one of the most innovative advertisers across all our platforms, from shorter-length spots and blinks to website takeovers, and now to mobile innovations” like iheartradio.
