Fox TV's “Dish Nation” will return this fall

dish nation This past summer’s TV tryout, featuring four radio morning shows, went well, and now syndicator Twentieth Television and the Fox Television Stations will move forward. The Hollywood Reporter says Dish Nation "is being paired with TMZ on most Fox stations and others,” creating a celebrity-filled hour of entertainment programming. Fox will be promoting Dish Nation at the upcoming NATPE conference in Miami Beach. It’s already got clearance in nine of the top 10 TV DMAs, on stations owned by Fox, Tribune, Lin and Cox. The participating morning shows include WPLJ, New York’s Scott & Todd. WHTA, Atlanta’s Rickey Smiley. And WDVD, Detroit’s Blaine & Allyson. Last Summer’s version also featured KPWR, L.A. personality DJ Felli Fel. Fox says they’ll be announcing more radio shows as contributors. The Hollywood Reporter notes that most past Summer tryouts from Fox didn’t make it, including those from Mike Huckabee, Craig Kilborn and Fran Drescher. Dish Nation is produced by Studio City, led by Chief Creative Officer Stu Weiss. He says “Not since ‘WKRP in Cincinnati’ has there been radio like this on television.”
