From Nashville, New Homes For Two Radio Shows

Billy Block Nashville musician and entrepreneur Bill Block (pictured) will move his weekly radio show, "The Billy Block Show & Locals Only," to Clear Channel's country WSIX (97.9) beginning Jan. 1, 2012. It will be recorded live on Sunday nights and air on WSIX from 5-7 p.m. each Sunday evening. It previously aired on crosstown rival WKDF (Cumulus) on Sunday nights from 6-8 p.m. Guests on the first WSIX show include "The Biggest Loser" star Big Vinny and partner Butter of Trailer Choir, and Black River Entertainment artist Sarah Darling, who will world-premiere her duet, with Dann Huff, of The Beatles' “Blackbird.”
In other news, Grammy-winning bluegrass music star Del McCoury's radio show ,"Del McCoury's Blue Side Of Town," which previously was heard on Sirius XM Radio, is moving to syndication via AirPlay Direct. The five-year-old show will now be available to download every Monday, and will be cut into four segments and "feature a revamped format that places more emphasis on decades of stories about the events, places and personalities that Del has to share with audiences from a lifetime of involvement at the forefront of the genre," according to an AirPlay Direct press release. "Alongside the stories, the show will continue Del’s signature mixture of traditional, contemporary and edgy-progressive bluegrass from legends and newcomers reflecting Del’s role in presenting both long-time colleagues and up-and-coming artists to his audience at events like his own music festival, DelFest."
