Garrison Named OM For CBS Phoenix; Gillette Tapped As KZON PD

Jeff Garrison

Radio programming veteran Jeff Garrison (pictured) has been named operations manager for CBS Radio’s three-station Phoenix cluster: country KMLE-FM, oldies KOOL-FM and rhythmic CHR KZON-FM, effective immediately. He transfers from the company’s Houston cluster, where he had been PD of country KILT-FM as well as VP, programming for the company’s country stations. He retains the latter duties. In addition to his other duties, Garrison will handle day-to-day programming for KMLE and KOOL. Former KOOL PD Kris Abrams has left the company, as previously reported. At one time Abrams had also handled programming for KMLE. The move is a return to Phoenix for Garrison, who previously served as PD for KMLE from 1996-2002.

In a related announcement, Rick Gillette has been named PD for KZON, effective immediately. A 25-year radio veteran, Gillette most recently was PD of top 40 WKSC-FM (103.5 KISS-FM) Chicago from 2006-08. Prior to that, Gillette was the VP of music entertainment for DMX Music for six years.
