Glasgow, Scotland college students in trouble for drinking while on their campus radio station
The students on the University of Glasgow Internet station Subcity’s “Party Party” show claimed on the air they were drinking a liter of tequila. They also cursed and discussed various sexual exploits on their Sunday evening show. While they did on one occasion promote an anti-drinking website, they also urged listeners to drink a shot of alcohol each time the presenters played a song. The BBC reports that since the school station is on the Internet, it does not fall under the guidelines of British broadcast regulator OFCOM. However, the University has its own code of conduct, and the school released a statement, saying “If the contents of this particular program are found to have breached the station’s code, disciplinary action will be taken.”
