Glenn Beck calls Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" "anti-American"

The latest “stir-the-pot” comments by conservative Glenn Beck came on his radio show, where he took offense to the Bruce Springsteen song “Born in the USA,” as well as the Woody Guthrie classic “This Land Is Your Land.” Beck analyzed the Springsteen classic line-by-line, calling the song “anti-American” and told listeners, “this is the thing that people who come from the Soviet-bloc or Cuba, they’re all saying, ‘How do you guys not hear this?” “USA” is about a Vietnam veteran who returns home from war to unemployment and tough times. As for Guthrie, Beck said the song “This Land Is Your Land,” “was presented to us as patriotic … and we’re a little late to the party on this.” You can listen to Beck’s comments here. Ironically, Radio-Info found a hero of Beck, the late Ronald Reagan, called Springsteen’s hit song “the message of hope” during his 1984 Presidential reelection campaign, according to a CNN report.
