Glenn Beck launches “Markdown.com", offering Groupon-like deals
Beck's first two partners are Chocolate.com and LifeLock. The Premiere-syndicated talk personality, working through his own Mercury Radio Arts, will get support from Premiere in both sourcing and promoting the offerings. Beck pledges that Markdown.com will "only promote deals that meet its values." He says he is especially interested in partnering with small businesses. With Chocolate.com, you can buy a $20 voucher for $10, and LifeLock, you get a three-month subscription to a new credit-score monitoring service for $20. Keith Ferry will be the president of Markdown, looking to leverage Beck's 10 million weekly radio listeners, 1.2 million newsletter subscribers, and the 1.8 million fans of his Facebook page.
