Glenn Beck's GBTV.com to offer his 2-hour daily video talkshow at $4.95/month

Glenn Beck The New York Times says some programming will debut on GBTV today (6/7), when Beck talks about it on his Premiere Radio Networks show. That will be largely behind-the-scenes footage, leading up to the September 12 launch of the actual two-hour “Glenn Beck” subscription video show, the successor to his current Fox News Channel show, and also starting at 5pm Eastern. Offering it on the web means it will also be on-demand. The Times confirms the speculation that Beck had pondered other options, like “a full-fledged Internet network”, or taking over or some or all of an existing cable channel. Mercury Radio Arts President Chris Balfe wouldn’t mention names, but he did say they’d talked with some cable channels in the Spring. MLB Advanced Media will power the network, which will eventually expand to offer additional content, for about $10 a month. Beck also gets help from his radio syndicator Clear Channel, which will promote GBTV.
