Gregg Henson named OM for Federated's news/talk WOWO, Ft. Wayne (1190)
He's also got responsibility for WOWO's all-sports sister, "ESPN 1380" WKJG. Gregg Henson was last heard in Dallas as the morning show co-host on sports/talk "Fan" KRLD-FM (105.3), but prior to that he was programming and on the air in his hometown of Detroit for WDFN & WXYT-AM (1270), at Philadelphia's WPEN-AM (950) and at KVET-AM (1300) in Austin, Texas. Henson is now on the move to Fort Wayne, Indiana where he will become OM for Federated Media's "News/Talk 1190" WOWO and ESPN 1380. Henson writes on his blog, "This position marks my transition from sports talk radio to News/Talk radio and I am doing it with a really great station that those in radio know is truly a legend. For my listeners in Dallas and Detroit, WOWO is one of the Midwest's great radio stations similar to WBAP (820/96.7) in Dallas and WJR-am (760) in Detroit." WOWO GM Mark DePrez says, "Gregg has made a conscious decision to transition his career from sports talk to news talk. We are fortunate he chose WOWO to establish himself as one of the next up and coming news talk programmers." Henson takes over on May 2. The Indiana Board here at Radio-Info.com has been watching the situation at WOWO, here.Previous and Next Stories
