Hartford's "Sebastian" and 12 others busted on sports-betting charges
Sebastian has recently been hosting "WTIC's Pregame Blitz" for talk WTIC-AM, Hartford (1080), and previously worked in the market doing mornings on rock WCCC (106.9) and at WZMX (93.7). The Hartford Courant says he was "arrested by state police in connection with an illegal betting operation", along with a former Connecticut town councilman and 11 others. The betting allegedly included both college and pro games, and the lengthy investigation involved the FBI, IRS, and several Connecticut agencies. Charges against Sebastian (Joe Schlosser) are for professional gambling and transmitting gambling information. The betting ring allegedly operated around the state capital of Hartford, and authorities confiscated some luxury cars, such as a Ferrari. Sebastian did wakeups at WCCC two different times, the first time following Howard Stern's departure. He and his cast left 'CCC just before Labor Day 2009, and Sebastian has recently been hosting the Monday and Thursday night "Pregame Blitz" with former NFL player Tebucky Jones on CBS Radio's WTIC-AM. The Connecticut Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about Sebastian here.
