"Highway Stations" lose local DJs
“The Highway Stations” – KHWY (98.9) and KHYZ (99.7), licensed to Victor Valley, and which target the Interstate 15 travelers between Las Angeles and Las Vegas, will cut live jocks, due to the recession. The stations provide traffic and news as well as a mix of AC music. Owner Howard Andreson reports he will have to cut ten employees, including three full-time DJs -like morning man Cory Baker. Now, News and Traffic will be provided by Maryland’s Reliant Broadcasting, via contract workers.
