Houston Christian non-com KSBJ pays $2.1M for Liberman's KNTE-FM (96.9)
It will soon be "adios" to KNTE-FM's current Spanish contemporary format. The KSBJ Educational Foundation already owns six full-power FMs, running its popular contemporary Christian format, and has the construction permit for a seventh. Its latest acquisition is Liberman Broadcasting's KNTE-FM, licensed to El Campo, Texas. It's a Class C0 (C-zero) at 96.9, and it covers the area southwest of Houston. KSBJ will likely convert it to non-commercial operation after the closing of the $2.1 million all-cash deal. Seller Liberman Broadcasting will still have other stations in the Houston area, including regional Mexican "La Raza" KTJM, Port Arthur at 98.5. LBI Media also owns Houston-market TV outlet KZJL.
